Preparing in Hindi or English? How to Practise for a Bilingual Exam Paper
Most UP exams print each question in both languages. Here is how to choose your exam language, avoid translation traps, and practise the way you will write.
Most UP recruitment exams print every General Studies question in both English and Hindi. That is a help — and a trap, if you have not practised for it.
Choose one primary language — and stick to it
Read each question first in the language you studied in. Switching back and forth costs time on every question, and across a full paper that time adds up to several unattempted questions.
Use the second language as a cross-check
When a question feels ambiguous, read the other version. Technical terms are often clearer in one language than the other — “Directive Principles” and “नीति निदेशक तत्व” name the same thing, but one of them may be the term you actually revised.
Learn the key terms in both
Keep a short two-column list of terms that confuse you: constitutional articles, scientific names, economic terms. Ten minutes a week on this list removes a whole class of avoidable mistakes.
Practise in the language you will write
Every bilingual question on MockHubs can be read in English or Hindi with one tap. Take your full mocks in your exam language, and use the other language only the way you will on the day — as a check, not a crutch.
